Harrogate gets TV role in hit reality show for Christmas
This Saturday Harrogate: A Yorkshire Christmas - a 90 min documentary will follow local retailers as they prepare for the town’s annual Christmas Window Competition – more than 100 shops pull out all the stops to put on the best window display possible in order to wow the crowds with a festive feel.
The competition is fierce as reigning champion – the Adage Dance Shop – goes head to head with the juggernaut that is Betty’s Tea Rooms, the uber competitive gift emporium Bijouled, and new shop on the block Furnish & Fettle.

Hide AdEach retailers months of hard work will culminate at the Christmas Lights Switch On, where the winning window is announced in front of thousands as the church choir sings and the brass band plays.
And it’s not just the retailers fighting it out for first prize… local independent radio station Stray FM have launched their annual ‘Santa Paws’ competition to find the most festive furry friend in and around Harrogate!
Jo Naughton, from Lights4Fun, who sponsored Santa Paws, said: “Tim and I looked for“fun” and “creativity and crafting” respectively in the entries. Some were hilarious such as the nativity scene, and one included a horse and dog looking very festive.
