SHERBURN boss Nick Peacock has held his hands up for last Saturday's County Cup drubbing but has vowed to bounce back when they return to league action tomorrow (2.30pm ko).
Beeston St Anthony's ruled the roost in the battle of the West Yorkshire outfit last weekend running out with a comfortable 4-0 victory on their home patch.
The Sherburn boss was disappointed with the display but wouldn't blame anyone but himself f
or their Cup exit at the first hurdle.
"I'm not one of these managers who blames their players," he said.
"I am the manager and it stops with me. I was very disappointed with the performance but I'm not one for blaming individuals.
"Hopefully though that will be the emphasis for us to improve this week."
Sherburn welcome Premier League new boys Otley Town tomorrow (2.30pm ko) with Peacock looking for an immediate response of course some welcome league points.
White Rose could move top of the table with a three point win but Peacock is staring weary of Otley who themselves have got off to a strong start this season.
"They seem like they've taken to the Premier League pretty well," continued Peacock.
"It will be a difficult game we all know that but there's the performance from last week I want to put right. There's also points up for grabs in the league.
"We can go top if we win but then against Otley can move level with us if they win so they'll be going out to sort that out."
WETHERBY are back on the winning trail and boss Des English is hopeful his side will turn their cup form into league wins sooner rather than later.
A tasty local derby against Bardsey awaits English' tomorrow with Martin Bradley's men making the short trip to the Ings also in need of three welcome points to boost their league standing.
The Wetherby boss is confident ahead of the fixture as they look to prolong Bardsey's unbeaten to four league games.
"I think they're in the same boat as us this season," said English.
"But it's going to be a difficult game, they're still a good team and of course they'll be coming in looking to win the game.
"But if we can build on the recent performance against Carlton and the victory last weekend in the cup we're confident we can get something out of it.
"We're improving every week and we'll just be hoping we get that win."
Wetherby come into the game high on confidence after their 1-0 win over Liversedge Reserves in the County Cup First Round on Saturday.
Last season's top scorer Brian Ross grabbed the only goal much to the delight of his boss.
"It was good to have Brian back in," he said.
"He was our top scorer last season and hopefully he'll be able to kick-on now and get some more for us."
Meanwhile in the BARDSEY camp boss Martin Bradley's side are also back to winning ways with their manager now eyeing a return to form in the league.
The County Cup holders are safely through to the second round after a gritty 3-1 win over Otley Rovers last weekend.
Now it's the clash against Des English and his troops with Bradley eagerly anticipating the fixture.
However they'll be without the services of the experienced Mick Mills who was sidelined for eight weeks after dislocating a shoulder on Saturday.
The side have also lost Anthony Hilton who has moved to Leeds Met Carnegie and Liam Robinson who has signed for Guiseley.
"We've lost Mick and that is a big blow for us," said Bradley.
"It just isn't going our way at the moment. I've also lost a few other lads and it's becoming difficult to get a settled side out.
"But we're looking forward to this Saturday. It's a local derby against Wetherby and we need a win.
"It's going to be a good game, Des always starts his side up well and it will be another tough one but one we're looking forward to."
On Saturday Bardsey had to battle hard to come out on top against Otley with goals from Paul McMullan, Michael Carey and Mills sealing the victory.
BOSTON SPARTANS boss Chris Conway has thanked his lucky stars last Saturday's 6-2 drubbing in the County Challenge Cup wasn't in the league as he eyes an immediate return to form tomorrow.
Boston welcome Premier League Field tomorrow in the League Cup with their boss looking forward to the test against higher league opposition.
"The main aim is the league," he said.
"We got to the final of the Challenge Cup last season which was brilliant but now we're out of it we can concentrate on the league.
"We're looking forward to tomorrow. It's against Field who we've played against before, we know they're a good side but it will be a good test against them."
On Saturday Boston actually took the lead in their contest through a Ben Dowson strike to go in at the break all square.
Robin Hood Athletic then raced into a 3-1 lead before Spartans reduced the deficit to 3-2 thanks to a Marcus Stapleton strike.
However after that it was all the hosts who romped home adding three further goals before the final whistle gave Boston some well earned respite.
Meanwhile TADCASTER MAGNET will look to build on Saturday's encouraging 3-0 win over Sandy Lane in Division Two when they travel to Howden Clough in the League Cup.
